Dear members of the European Parliament,

For about 30 years Armenia occupies territories of Azerbaijan territorial integrity of which recognized by other countries of the world and such organizations as UN, EU, Council of Europe, OSCE, NATO and etc.

Armenia established illegal and unrecognized regime named “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

We strongly condemn some of the members of the European Parliament, who, instead of supporting Azerbaijan in this matter, violated international law by taking side of illegal regime.

On January 2018 member of European Parliament Lars Adaktusson visited occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region without permission and consent of Azerbaijan, held meetings with “representatives” of so-called regime.

It should be noted that, mentioned member of the European Parliament intends to violate international law further.

Members of the European Parliament Lars Adaktsson and Michèle Rivasi, sponsored by such Armenian lobby organizations as Tufenkian Foundation, Armenian Law Center for Justice and Human Rights, are planning to hold on February 27, 2018 an event aimed at supporting the “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”.

On February 28, 2018 member of European Parliament Frank Engel planned to held another provocative event named “Nagorno-Karabakh & the EU: 1988 – 2018” in the building of organization (European Parliament – Room JAN 6Q2).

In this conference, co-organized by AGBU Europe and the European Friends of Armenia, will participate members of European Parliament Frank Engel, Jaromir Stetina, Eleni Theocharous, journalist Tsvetana Paskaleva, Paul Meerts from Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’ and Licinia Simao from Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES).

Holding of this event by sponsorship of such lobby groups as The Armenian General Benevolent Union and European Friends of Armenia means support of terrorist regime in the occupied territories, rather than relations between Azerbaijan and EU.

Unfortunately, while the European Parliament remains indifferent to the Khojaly genocide, committed by the Armenian terrorists on February 26, 1992, its members are holding events aimed at supporting terrorists.

We urge the European Parliament, known as supporter of peace and justice, to end this iniquity, not to violate territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and support law and justice, rather than terrorists and separatists.
