Protests in Russia: Clashes and arrests

Russia has launched protests demanding the release of Alexei Navalny.

Axar.az reports that the protests began in the Khabarovsk region. Protesters shouted “Damn the tsar!” shouted slogans. In Khabarovsk, 1,000 people reportedly joined the protests.

It was noted that arrests have already been made during the protests. So OMON used force against the protesters. So far, 10 people have been detained by OMON.

Along with Khabarovsk, rallies took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Chita, Magadan, Yakutia, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, South Sakhalin and Vladivostok. Mass arrests took place in southern Sakhalin and Vladivostok. 3,000 people joined the protests in these cities. Clashes broke out between them and riot police.

According to the latest information, 40 people were detained in Khabarovsk, 30 in Komsomolsk-Amur and 20 in Vladivostok.

There are also detainees in Yakutia.

The total number of participants in rallies in support of Navalny in different cities of Russia exceeded 15,000.

The largest protests were reported in Vladivostok and Irkutsk.

So far, 369 people have been detained during the protests.

The arrests were mostly in Siberia and the Far East.

Protests are being held in 60 Russian cities.
