CEO of the German news agency dpa (Deutsche Presse-Agentur) Peter Kropsch has hailed Azerbaijan State News Agency`s active role in the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA).
“I am very happy that AZERTAC is an active member of the European Alliance of News Agencies. In a time that there are so many gaps within different countries and societies it is very important,” Mr Kropsch told AZERTAC`s correspondent on the sidelines of an EANA conference in Bucharest, Romania. “It’s a long way AZERTAC has begun this way. They are constantly striving to improve. This is the only way that will work.”
He also stressed the significance of the EANA conference: “It is always very important that twice in a year the media leaders from all over Europe meet. This time in Romania. I have been in Bucharest quite a long time ago. The city has changed a lot. We have the important issues for the news agencies on the table. It is a very appropriate opportunity to exchange what we have experienced. The future of the media is simple and complicated at the same time. There has never been such a demand for the independent media as we have now,” Mr Kropsch added.
