The event dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the great representative of Azerbaijani literature, outstanding poet and playwright Huseyn Javid was held at the Minsk State Linguistic University.
The jubilee evening was attended by the Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Belarus Nikolai Cherginets, a delegation of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, headed by the rector of the university, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Kamal Abdullayev, interpreter of poems of Azerbaijani poets, including Leila Aliyeva, in Belarusian Tatyana Sivets, former ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Nikolay Patskevich, ambassadors of China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Moldova accredited in Belarus, and the International Organization for Migration, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and the local media.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Belarus Latif Gandilov delivered a report on the creative work, life and philosophical views of Huseyn Javid. He especially noted that, Huseyn Javid, who in his work appealed to love, beauty and spiritual purity, left a deep mark in the formation of the national way of thinking. The ambassador said that, Huseyn Javid in his work touched not only the issues of the Muslim world, but also universal human issues, was able to reveal the depth of the wise East.
Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdullayev emphasized that, the spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people, such as tolerance and multiculturalism, were reflected in the work of Huseyn Javid.
Then, in the performance of the embassy staff, members of the Azerbaijani diaspora and students of the Minsk State Linguistic University, Huseyn Javid’s verses in Russian were heard.
