The 18th IFAC International Conference – TECIS (Technology, Culture and International Stability) will be held first time in Baku city, where Europe’s and the world’s prestigious cultural and sporting events were held in recent years, on subject of “Technology, Culture and International Stability” by support of IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control) on 13-15 September 2018.
IFAC was founded in 12 September 1957 in Paris. By invitation of the Austrian Government it has been situated in Laxenburg near Vienna (Austria), since 1978. IFAC is a multinational federation of 49 national member organizations (NMO), each one representing the engineering and scientific societies concerned with automatic control in its own country.
The main aim of the Federation is to promote the science and technology of control in the broadest sense in all systems, for example, engineering, physical, biological, social or economic, in both theory and application. IFAC connects the organizations of different countries on Automatic Control and Systems Engineering irrespective of race, creed or color, or of geographic location, and provides free exchange of ideas amongst specialists of the same organizations.
IFAC pursues its purpose by organizing technical meetings, by publications, and by any other means consistent with its constitution and which will enhance the interchange and circulation of information on automatic control activities. Such prestigious conference first time in region will be held in leader country Azerbaijan.
One of the first committees in the structure of IFAC – TECIS (technical committee) has been functioning since 1983. Since that time, TECIS has held 17 international conferences in different countries of the World.
The partner of IFAC from Azerbaijan, one of the organizers of the conference – ARAS (Azerbaijan Robotics and Automation Society), is actively participating in organizing the international conference TECIS 2018. ARAS – the first non-governmental organization in this area in Azerbaijan – was founded in 2017 and an only nominated organization from Azerbaijan for the membership of IFAC.
The main purpose of holding this conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from industry and academia to give an overview of the state of the art, to present new research results and to exchange ideas and experiences in the fields of technology and international stability.
The topics for the conference are multifaceted and up-to-date. The scope of the conference encompasses so many fields and necessary problems. The topics of the conference express the connection between automatic control and various fields of life, such as techniques, economics, medicine, social life and politics. For example, some subjects of the conference, such as “Control and Automation in Improving Stability”, “Managing the Introduction of Technological Change to Improve Stability”, “Technology in Post-Conflict Regions”, “SME-oriented Automation”, “Mechatronic Systems and Robotics” and “Biomedical Systems” are especially important problems in our modern period.
The first call for receiving articles for the conference has already been done. In recent years, technology development leads to dramatic changes in international stability. One of the Azerbaijani organizers of this prestigious scientific-technological event – ARAS (Azerbaijan Robotics and Automation Society) believes that to bring such events to Azerbaijan and to share international experiences as well as to involve the interests of influential organizations in Azerbaijan are very important for the development of the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan.
In TECIS 2018, scientists, specialists and students from different countries of the World will gather and submit their articles on various topics, and the participants of the conference will get acquainted with our country and its capital city Baku, which is developing fast in recent years.
It should be noted that the organizers of the conference are IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control), IFAC TC 9.5 Committee of Technology, Culture and International Stability, ARAS (Azerbaijan Robotics and Automation Society) and Vienna University of Technology, IHRT. The technical supporters of the conference are the respective technical committees of IFAC (see in detail on www.ifac-control.org). The support on travel is implemented by “PASHA Travel” Company. The sponsors of the event are International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), IFAC TC 9.5 Technology, Culture and International Stability, Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), ADA University.
